Learners from all four universities are invited to take part! Show us what life is really like as a prosthetics & orthotics student/apprentice. This includes prosthetic and orthotic Technician apprentices.

Capture your experiences, challenges, and what makes your journey inspiring.

What to Do

🎥 Create a short video (1–3 minutes) that highlights your life as a prosthetics and orthotics student/apprentice.

It could be:

  • A typical day on your course
  • Time in workshops or clinical placements
  • Team projects and studying
  • Anything that makes your experience unique

Be creative! Vlogs, montages, animations — all welcome. Just remember to keep patient privacy in mind.

Who Can Enter

Prosthetic and Orthotic students and apprentices on any prosthetic and orthotic courses at any of the four UK participating universities. (Derby, Keele, Salford, and Strathclyde) Including Technician students/apprentices.

How to Enter

  1. Upload and tag us in your video on Instagram – @_bapo2_ or LinkedIn – BAPO British Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics
  2. Please include where and what you are studying.
  3. Get consent from anyone who appears in your video.
  4. Be sure to use the tag: #BAPOLEARNER
  5. Open to all UK prosthetic and orthotic students/apprentices, including Technician apprentices.

BAPO Tech and Trends Webinar – A Practical Application of Digital Technology for Custom Orthotics

Details

Webinar Objective: 

To give a broad technological overview to what is possible when using digital workflows to mill or 3D Print custom orthotics insoles.

 

Summary: 

This session will include details on existing rigid and soft shell 3D Printing, including the emerging ‘variational geometry’ software tools for designing & printing variable stiffness in a single material (resin or powder). The session will cover FIT360 tools, but only as a backbone for showing how new technologies are being used in this rapidly emerging market. Suitable for those new to this tech, or more advanced users.
